PL - United 2- 0 Fulham

Back home from todays game.
Where to start?

Weather
First of all, absolutely mint weather in the UK!!! Didn't think it had it in it but epic session of booze from 12:30-2:30 with dad & co. at the usual but OUTSIDE as the weather allowed it.
T-shirt worn for fwhat will potentially be the first & last time this season given Manc weather.

Team
Wasn't too surprised with changes regarding the team. Kuszak back in net was probably the biggest suprise. Never has impressed me in a red shirt and to be the understudy to the best GK @ OT since a certain "great dane" it's a bug burden to handle.
Berba back up-front, of whom we know isn't my favourite player ever but we'll take it as Hernandez only came back from Mexico less than two weeks ago & has been sensational regardless. Not convinced by the re-inclusion of Gibson either. Back 4 seemed solid as ever & great to see Smalling back, especially against his old club. On a side note to think Smalling was getting up at 08:30 every sunday morning to play non-league football to now playing for the biggest club in the world is pretty surreal.

Overall
So I really believe that today was just a hindrance on the 2 following games of which could potentially define our season and its path to glory, or not.
One of the last things we needed prior to playing Chelsea at OT & City at Wembley was to play today. Nonetheless an exception first-half, albeit after an initial scare from Fulham in the first 10 minutes through testing Kuszak twice & skewing a 1-on-1. Our two goals came not so far apart and were rightly deserved. We dominated midfield with Anderson, Gibson & Scholes providing much needed bodies in the centre! Second half was pretty poor to watch but was great to see Owen get minutes and NO INJURIES which at this stage is so important especially given our run-in!

Nani
This section could have come at the end but the fact in the first half Nani assisted both goals it rightfully is posted here. He was, without doubt, our best & most threatening and creative player today. I won't rant on about WHY he has't been nominated for PFA player of the year but I guess fellow professionals clearly don't understand his importance. A slice of luck regarding his second assist could be adjudged given the poor defence clearance from the CBs header but his first was pure skill - taking it inside and playing a wonderful "1-2" with Anderson to set up Berba who finished superbly. Offside? It all evens itself out WE KNOW this.

Round-up
I wish I had more to say about us but theres not a lot. As I've said before I'm not a huge fan of Berbatov but today he couldn't really be faulted. What infuriates me with him is the face besides Nani is the most technically gifted player at the club. It's just his languid style & thus persona that always makes it look like he's not arsed nor even wants to play for the biggest club in the world. 21 goals is not to be sniffed at. Tevez, who's 2nd in the charts has scored 5 pennas so from open play he's miles ahead of anyone. As I've said before I hope I eat my words & Berba scores the winner in every game we have coming up. However, I still feel the threat of Hernandez pace & maturing partnership with Rooney will be Fergies first choice come the big games & one I agree with.

2 days until Chelsea! Will be absolutely buzzing for it. Really hoping for a win. I'm gonna predict now if we win Tue we'll go on to beat City. Let's hope I'm right. Until then the wait for Tuesday starts!
